Meet Dr. Susin
Dr. Susin is a dedicated and passionate endodontist who has been practicing the art of endodontics for more than 25 years. With two endodontic residency certificates, her expertise in the field is undeniable. Endodontics is not just a profession for Dr. Susin, but a true calling, so she cannot imagine practicing anything else.
Dr. Susin has dedicated a significant portion of her career to educating and guiding future professionals in the field of endodontics. She continues to contribute to the education of residents at UNC, where she teaches once a week. Seeing the success of her students after graduation brings her immense joy and fulfillment.
Dr. Susin has developed a deep sense of care and commitment toward each individual. Every patient who walks through her doors is treated as if that person were a member of her own family. During their evaluation appointments, Dr. Susin ensures that patients receive thorough information about their treatment options, to empower them to make informed decisions about their oral health. She goes above and beyond for her patients, making herself available after hours and weekends to provide exceptional care.
Excellence in Education
Dr. Susin earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the esteemed Faculty of Dentistry at Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She pursued further specialization in endodontics, and completed a certificate in endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, Lutheran University of Brazil.
Her dedication to enhancing her skills continued with a fellowship in endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, followed by a fellowship in pediatric endodontics at the same institution.
Seeking to expand her knowledge and expertise, Dr. Susin completed a certificate in endodontics at the School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia. This comprehensive training provided her with a deep understanding of the latest advancements and techniques in endodontics, and further refined her ability to deliver optimal patient care.
Through her extensive education and specialization, Dr. Susin has honed her skills in diagnosing and treating complex endodontic cases. She is well-versed in the most advanced techniques and procedures in the field, which ensures that her patients receive the highest standard of care.
Dr. Susin’s commitment to ongoing education extends beyond her formal training. She remains actively engaged in continuing education courses through the American Association of Endodontics, Chapel Hill Comprehensive Study Club, and the Durham-Orange Dental Society Study Club, to stay up to date with the latest developments and advancements in endodontics.
She is also an adjunct professor in endodontics at UNC. This dedication enables her to provide her patients with the most advanced, evidence-based treatments and techniques, to deliver exceptional outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Outside the Office
Dr. Susin hails from Brazil, where she grew up before embarking on her journey in the field of dentistry. Currently, she resides in Cary, where she has been a part of the community since 2018.
Family holds a special place in Dr. Susin’s heart. She has been happily married to Cristiano for 15 years, and together they have two wonderful children, Sophie and Lucas. Their furry pup Bella, a playful Maltese, recently turned two years old. Dr. Susin cherishes her family and her time with them. She actively engages in her children’s academic pursuits, assisting them with homework and projects.
In addition, she supports their extracurricular activities. Lucas plays soccer four times a week and Sophie participates in jogging, acting, singing, and dancing classes. Amidst the everyday routine, Dr. Susin also finds joy in walking the dog, cooking, and planning for the next day’s adventures.
When Dr. Susin is not working, you can often find her exploring the great outdoors. She has a deep passion for exploring new destinations and loves to travel, with the beach holding a special place in her heart.
